WhatsApp for iOS users now have the ability to create events in group chats, adding to the list of recent updates to the instant messaging platform. This feature was initially discovered in the beta version of the app for Android by a feature tracker, but has since made its way to the stable version for iPhone users.
The Event option in group chats can be accessed by tapping the “+” icon, which opens up the activity menu. Users can then input the event name, a description, set the start time, and add a location if necessary. Additionally, there is an option to toggle the WhatsApp call link to initiate a call when the event begins. This new feature enhances the user experience within group chats and allows for better coordination among participants.
The Event creation feature is now available to all WhatsApp for iOS users after updating to the latest version of the app. However, updates are typically rolled out gradually, so it may take some time for all users to have access to the new feature. Gadgets 360 staff members were able to confirm the availability of this feature after updating their WhatsApp app.
In addition to the new Event creation feature, WhatsApp has also introduced Meta AI, an artificial intelligence chatbot, to other regions such as India. Users may soon have the option to choose between two AI models: Llama 3-70B and Llama 3-405B. The former is a smaller model designed for quick responses, while the latter is Meta’s largest AI model with 400 billion parameters. However, the release of the Llama 3-405B model to the public has not yet been confirmed.
The latest updates to WhatsApp for iOS bring a new Event creation feature to group chats, allowing users to better organize and coordinate activities within their conversations. Additionally, the expansion of Meta AI chatbot to new regions indicates a commitment to enhancing user experience through advanced technology. With these new features, WhatsApp continues to evolve as a versatile and user-friendly instant messaging platform.
