WhatsApp Rolls Out New Update to Set Favourite Contacts

WhatsApp has recently announced the launch of a new update that allows users to mark specific contacts as favourites. This new feature will enable users to keep track of the people they frequently communicate with by placing them at the top of the screen in both WhatsApp Chats and Calls. Moreover, it will serve as a filter on the instant messaging platform, making it easier for users to access their preferred contacts.

Adding Favourite Contacts

To set contacts as favourites, users can open WhatsApp and navigate to the favourites filter in the Chats tab. From there, they can select the contacts or groups they wish to designate as favourites and tap on the filter to display only the selected contacts. Additionally, users now have the option to set favourites in the Calls tab as well, by selecting the ‘Add favourites’ option and choosing the desired contacts.

Users can also manage their favourite contacts by going to Settings, then Favorites, and selecting Add to Favorites. In this section, users can edit, delete, or rearrange the contacts saved as favourites, ensuring that the list remains up to date and organized according to their preferences.

Although WhatsApp has announced the rollout of this new feature, some users may not yet have access to it. The feature is said to be introduced gradually, with users receiving it in the coming weeks. It is possible that the rollout is being conducted in phases, and some users may still be waiting to receive the update. At present, the feature may only be accessible to beta testers registered through the Google Play Beta program.

The introduction of the favourites feature on WhatsApp is a welcome addition that enhances the user experience by allowing for better organization of contacts. By setting favourite contacts, users can easily access the people they communicate with most frequently, streamlining their messaging and calling experience. While the availability of the feature may vary, it is expected to be fully rolled out to all users in the near , contributing to a more user-friendly and intuitive interface on WhatsApp.
